Identifying gas drilling-related illness with local nurses and Conservation Pennsylvania
Local nurses from the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals and the environmental community are working together to discuss the dangers of natural gas drilling and the controversial process known as “fracking” in Scranton on December 6th at 7pm-8pm at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel Scranton.
This public event is an opportunity for citizens to hear from local nurses on how to identify the effects of exposure to natural gas activities.
After an introduction and overview, there will be a public question and answer session in which doctors, nurses and other public health officials will be on hand to answer questions any attendees may have.
Topics expected to be discussed include:
- Toxins associated with natural gas extraction and hydraulic fracturing activities
- Health hazards and routes of exposure associated with natural gas extraction activities
- The impact of high volume hydraulic fracturing on communities and individuals
