Help Us Conserve Pennsylvania

We’re all living through a crucial moment. The actions we take today will determine the state of Pennsylvania’s environment for generations to come.

Pennsylvania is one of the world’s worst emitters of the pollution responsible for global warming, and three out of four of the Commonwealth’s hunters and anglers say that they can already see its effects.

Meanwhile, gas drilling companies from across the world are flocking to Pennsylvania to take advantage of the natural gas in the Marcellus Shale formation beneath the state. As thousands of new wells are drilled around Pennsylvania, the dangerous “fracking” process threatens to poison the drinking water from Erie to Mt. Airy.

Finally, with stark shortfalls in the state budget coming soon, key environmental protection programs and the vital Department of Environmental Protection face devastating cuts, just as they’re needed most.

There are a lot of challenges coming, but there is a simple solution: educated, engaged citizens who know what they want and are willing to speak out. Conservation Pennsylvania exists to give those citizens the tools and the knowledge they need to put the Commonwealth on the right track.
